Your gently used books help bring the joy of reading to children in Calgary. Proceeds from the Big Book Sale fuel critical early literacy work – and helping children become stronger readers has never been more important.
where can i donate books?
The Calgary Curling Club
720 3rd Street NW
Our main book donation site is the Calgary Curling Club where we will be accepting donations for 10 days.
If you can’t make it to the Calgary Curling Club, we also host stuff-a-truck events across Calgary. See the dates and locations for our Stuff-a-Truck events in the "other donation locations" section below.
Wherever you donate, bring your books in boxes or bags that you don’t need returned. Pull up to our curbside drop-off, open your trunk and we’ll unload your books.

Donations at the Calgary Curling Club are best, but we also come to you! Find a Stuff-a-Truck donation event near you, pop your trunk and our volunteers will load your boxes of books into our truck!

We’ll happily receive any gently used books that aren’t on our ‘don’t donate’ list below. We especially love bestsellers and new releases. You might be surprised to learn that we have a wonderful collectibles section, books in other languages, and even DVDs, CDs and audiobooks!

We’re so thankful for your donations of gently used books. Here is the list of books we cannot accept:
Dictionaries
Encyclopedias
Religious texts or Bibles
Reader’s Digest
Harlequin, Avon or Signet romances
Magazines (including National Geographic)
Textbooks
Book sets (such as Time/Life)
Library discards

Here is the list of books we cannot accept: dictionaries, encyclopedias, religious texts or Bibles, library discards, Reader’s Digest, Harlequin, Avon or Signet romances, magazines (including National Geographic), textbooks, book sets such as Time/Life.
We happily accept all books from individual donors that are gently used and not on our "don't donate" list. However, if you have a large or older collection of books please contact us in advance to ensure we can accept your donations.

Proceeds from the Big Book Sale support several organizations doing early literacy work—helping children become stronger readers, get books of their very own and providing safe, fun reading places that nurture a love of reading.
